6 Towns Credit Union Ltd

Was first register in December 2004 and has grown steadily ever since. The common bond is for Sandwell, Worcestershire and South Birmingham. In November 2013 the Credit Union mentioned by Adam Fleming of the BBC Daily and Sunday politics show with aims to help those who struggle to get credit and would soon be offering its own current account. The range of services available include savings and loan facilities and the provision of a current account. Other services include a Landlords facility to ensure that tenants' rent payments are made on time which serves to protect tenancies. This service is available to both social landlords and those in the private sector and continues to operate services from their head office in West Bromwich.

2016/7 saw the credit union develop its digital marketing campaign in response to the growing trend for online loans, which has seen a lot of credit unions receive increasing numbers of loan applications through their websites. 6Towns has moved almost all its marketing onto digital platforms – namely Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube

"6Towns" name is derived from the six towns that comprise the Metropolitan Borough Sandwell (Wednesbury, Tipton, West Bromwich, Smethwick, Oldbury and Rowley Regis). When the Common Bond was expanded to encompass South Birmingham and Worcestershire, it was decided not to change the name.
